Why we do it

From the owner

I started this wash–dry–fold service because I saw how many people in our community were overwhelmed by the daily grind — working long hours, raising families, caring for loved ones, and juggling responsibilities that leave little time for themselves. Laundry is one of those tasks that never stops, and for many households in DeKalb County, it becomes a source of stress instead of something simple. I wanted to create a service that gives people back their time, reduces their load, and supports them in a practical, meaningful way. This business is about helping busy families, seniors, students, and traveling workers breathe a little easier and feel supported by someone who genuinely cares about their day-to-day well-being.

Drop It Like It's Hot is a locally owned laundry pickup and delivery service based in Shabbona, serving homes within 20 miles.
